Results of the 2021 MLA Elections

Congratulations to all those elected to MLA offices! In balloting that closed on 10 December, members elected Dana A. Williams (Howard University) as second vice president. Williams will become MLA president in January 2024. Susan Stanford Friedman, Leah S. Marcus, and Ifeoma C. Kiddoe Nwankwo were elected to the Executive Council.

MLA Prizewinners Announced

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2021 MLA publications prizes and the MLA-EBSCO information literacy awards. Prizewinners will be honored at the awards ceremony during the MLA convention on 8 January.

2021 ADE and ADFL Award Winners

The MLA congratulates Michael Bérubé, winner of the ADE's Francis Andrew March Award, and Charlotte Melin, winner of the ADFL's Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession. The awards will be presented during the awards ceremony at the MLA convention.

The MLA Student Essay Contest 

The MLA seeks submissions from students of exemplary research papers written in MLA style, for publication on MLA Handbook Plus, the digital resource providing online access to the ninth edition of the MLA HandbookSubmit your paper by 18 January.
